STUDENT TO STUDENT: SCALE's National Youth Literacy Network
Program Overview
Through a generous grant from the UPS Foundation, SCALE’s STUDENT TO STUDENT Program will enable under-served adolescents to demonstrate improved literacy skills and attitudes toward learning. Working initially in communities of selected campus-based literacy programs, college student tutors will be trained in a comprehensive volunteer tutoring model specifically addressing the needs of adolescent learners. Subsequently, the STUDENT TO STUDENT model will be disseminated to campus-based literacy programs around the country.
SCALE is collaborating with a distinguished group of experts in the field of adolescent literacy and development to establish the tutor training model that will form the core of the STUDENT TO STUDENT Program. The Board of Advisors includes:
