NC LiteracyCorps
The NC LiteracyCorpsENGAGE Project is a cohort of AmeriCorps members working to increase the capacity and direct service impact of North Carolinas campus and community-based literacy programs. This year, the NC LiteracyCorps will place 11 half-time and 18 full-time AmeriCorps members on college campuses and community sites across the state. Our goal this year is to involve the Baby Boomer generation and college students in our work by recruiting them to be volunteer tutors. We are all very excited to be funded for the next three years and hopefully this will give us the impetus to push forward and get things done in our communities.
- Part-time members will provide 900 hours of service with a 10-11 month commitment and receive both a living allowance of $6000 and an educational award of $2362.50.
- Full-time members will provide 1700 hours of service with a 10-11 month commitment and receive both a living allowance of $12,000 and an educational award of $4725.00.
