Chapel Hill Transit
The Chapel Hill city buses are free and can be used to get to Carrboro Elementary, Hargraves Community Center, and Rashkis Elementary.
Tutor Vehicles
Tutors who have their own cars are asked to drive themselves (and any other tutors who have similar schedules) to the site. If you are a rider in a carpool, please occasionally offer to help pay for gas.
Directions
Carrboro Elementary: Take Rosemary Street west into Carrboro; it turns into Main Street. At the light, veer right onto Weaver Street. At the next light, turn right onto Greensboro Street. Pass the Harris Teeter and RR tracks. Turn left on Shelton Street. Shelton Street dead ends into the school. Parking is on the right. The phone number is 968.3652. Carrboro Elementary is near the CW, F, and J bus routes.
Ephesus Elementary: Take Franklin Street east towards Durham. Go approximately 2.5 miles and turn right on Ephesus Church Road. (When you turn right, you will be turning into a shopping center with a Boston Market and Steinmart. Go through the shopping center to the next stop light, and continue straight on Ephesus Church Road.) The school will be on your left at 1495 Ephesus Church Road. The phone number is 929.8715. Ephesus is served by the F bus route.
Hargraves Community Center: Take Franklin Street west towards Carrboro. Turn right on N. Roberson Street. The community center is 0.3 miles. The phone number is 968.2794. Hargraves is served directly by the CW bus route and is very close to the A, F, J, and M bus routes.
New Hope Elementary: Go north on Columbia Street, and this road will eventually become Hwy 86. Merge onto I-40 W via the ramp on the left toward Greensboro. Take the New Hope Church Road exit, exit 263. Keep RIGHT at the fork to go on NEW HOPE CHURCH RD. End at 1900 New Hope Church Road. The phone number is 942.9696.
Rashkis Elementary School: Take South Road through campus and down the hill. At the edge of campus, South turns into Raleigh Road; at the bottom of the hill, it becomes Hwy 54 East. Go one mile on 54 East and turn left onto Meadowmont Lane. (This is across 54 from the Friday Center.) Go straight on Meadowmont Lane. You will pass shops and a Harris Teeter on your left, then several houses; Rashkis is on your left. The phone number is 918.2160. Rashkis Elementary is on the V bus route.
Scroggs Elementary School: Start at the corner of Franklin St. and Columbia St. at Qdoba Mexican Grill. Turn right on S. Columbia St. (NC-86)- go 0.2 miles. Turn Right on W. Cameron Ave. Turn Left on Pittsboro St.-go 0.4 miles. Bear Right on S. Columbia St. (NC-86)-go 0.7 miles. Continue on S. Columbia St. (US-15)-go 0.1 mile. Continue to follow (US-15)-go 1.1 mile. Turn Right on Main St. Bear Left on Market St. Turn Left on Kildaire Rd. Arrive at 501 Kildaire Rd, Chapel Hill, on the left. The phone number is 918.7165. Scroggs Elementary is on the V bus route.
