Literacy Action Networks

SCALE is excited to announce the formation of a renewed Literacy Action Network (LAN). We want to connect campus-based literacy programs around the country so that the impact of our joint efforts can be enhanced. And we want to provide all campus-based literacy programs with access to their partners around the country.

The function of the Literacy Action Network will be to provide a link for programs so that connections can be made, and challenges and solutions shared. Not only will this be an association for program directors and administrators, but for students who are actively involved in their local communities. Our hope is to establish a robust and vibrant network of the people whose combined efforts have a dramatic impact on daunting social problems, literacy high among them.

The home of the Literacy Action Network is here on the SCALE website where we provide descriptions of leading national programs, contacts for each, and links to their respective websites. We will conduct discussion groups and forums for LAN participants and provide essential tools for enhanced program outcomes.

We look forward to shared guidance and insight so that SCALE can continue to best respond to the needs of all campus-based programs. It is our hope that the Literacy Action Network will provide all campus-based literacy programs with additional support, resources, and meaningful connections.
